The Events configuration panel on the Configure Sampling dialog box lists the processor groups and events that you can monitor during event-based sampling. By default, the Clockticks and Instruction retired events are selected and available in all event groups.
The Event Groups pull-down list provides the groups of events that are pertinent to your microprocessor. Select a group of events that you want to use to configure the sampling collector for event-based sampling.
To view events available for processors enabled with Hyper-Threading Technology, select All events.
This field displays the list of events available for the selected event groups. Events for processors enabled with Hyper-Threading Technology have a TI (Thread Independent), TS (Thread Specific), or TI-E (Thread Independent due to ESCR Restriction) suffix.
Select an event from the Available Events list and click Add to add it to the Selected Events field.
Select an event from the Selected Events list and click Remove to remove it from the Selected Events field.
Select an event and click Explain... for a description of the event.
Select an event from the Selected Events field and click the Edit Event button to check the flags that you would like to set or clear for the event.
Use this feature with caution.
The Selected Events field displays all the events you add from the Event groups together with the events selected by default if you do not delete them from the field. The sampling collector collects these events during EBS.
The Selected Events field contains two columns: Event Name and Sample After.
Event Name column lists the names of the events you select for EBS.
Sample After column shows Sample After value for the selected events. You can set the value manually by entering the number in the column.

When you select an event ratio in the Event Ratios configuration panel, the events that make up the ratio are automatically added to the Selected Events list in the Events configuration panel.
To delete an event ratio from the Selected Ratios list in the Event Ratios configuration panel, from the Events configuration panel, select an event that makes up the event ratio and click <.
