Pack and Go Tuning Project Dialog Box

Use the Pack and Go Tuning Project dialog box to pack the whole project, Activity, or an Activity result into a .vxp file. You can later import the file, unpack it, and view the data on any machine that has the VTune(TM) Performance Environment installed. This process is called Pack and Go.

To pack the whole tuning project data into a file, do one of the following:

• Select Export... from the File menu and select Pack and Go tuning project from the Select dialog box.
  The Pack and Go Tuning Project dialog box opens.

OR

• Right-click the project in the Tuning Browser and select Pack and Go from the pop-up menu.
  Pack and Go dialog box opens.

To pack an Activity or Activity result into a file, do the following:

Right-click the required element, Activity or Activity result, in the Tuning Browser and select Pack and Go from the pop-up menu.
Pack and Go dialog box opens.

This dialog box provides the following options:

Select a Project

Use the drop-down list to select the project to pack.

Select a File Name

Specify the name and location of the resultant .vxp file.

Compress Pack&Go Files

Select this option to compress the packed project. This option is enabled by default.

Note

• The previous versions of the product can't open the compressed project.
• The Pack and Go command packs the VTune Performance Environment related files only. You should manually copy your binary and source files to the destination system.
