VTune(TM) Performance Tools Preference Page

The VTune(TM) Performance Tools page of the Window>Preferences menu command  enables you to configure the default behavior of VTune(TM) Performance Analyzer Activities.

In the integrated Eclipse* environment:

a) From the Window menu, select Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box.

b) From the left panel, select VTune(TM) Performance Tools.

General Project Options

Compress Pack&Go files

Check this box to compress the packed project. This option is enabled by default.

Note

• The previous versions of the product can't open the compressed project.
• The Pack and Go command packs the VTune Performance Environment related files only. You should manually copy your binary and source files to the destination system.

General Activity Options

Automatically display Activity result when Activity finishes run

Check this box to display an Activity result in a data view when an Activity finishes running. If the check box is unchecked, you can double-click any of the generated Activity results in the Tuning Browser, to view it in a data view.

Don't prompt when attempting to kill a launched application

Check this box to enable termination of applications launched by the VTune(TM) Performance Environment, without receiving any prompts.

Modify Activity Options

Always warn when modifying an Activity with results

Select this option to prompt before opening the Activity Properties dialog box for an Activity that has Activity results.

Always copy an Activity without results when modifying it

Select this option to create a copy of the Activity without Activity Results and open the Advanced Activity Configuration dialog box for the copy of the Activity.

Always modify an Activity with results

Select this option to open the Activity Properties dialog box when modifying the Activity. This option modifies the settings of the Activity; the existing Activity results will reflect the Activity settings before any modifications.
