The Application/module Profilepanel of the Configure Activity Name dialog box enables you to configure an application/module profile.
Not all collectors require an Application/Module profile, and some collectors do not support them.
An application/module profile defines an application to launch and/or modules of interest. Each data collector may have zero or more associated application/module profile. Some data collectors, however, require at least one application/module profile, with specific configuration. If an application/module profile is not configured properly to suit the data collector it is associated with, an error message is displayed to indicate the missing information.
When you configure an application/module profile as part of the Activity, the specified application is launched when the Activity is run. Data collectors associated with a profile start data collection after the specified application is launched and can be configured to stop collection when the application terminates.
If you configure an application to be launched on a remote machine, the machine name is displayed in parenthesis next to the profile name.
When using the integrated Eclipse user interface to create the Activity, you can not add more than one application/module profile to an Activity. See Usage Model for the Integrated Eclipse User Interface for more information.
Click to configure the selected application/module profile and then make changes in the Configure Application/Module Profile Name dialog box.
Depending on the data collector, an application/module profile can be required, optional, or unsupported. See the help on your data collector for more details.
